Computer requirements
Most computers can connect to the residential network with little to no problem. However, to refine our support as well as enhance the academic experience of the student, we have particular requirements for computers brought to campus.

About the Requirements
The minimum hardware requirements listed allow for basic use of the operating system listed without additional software packages. The recommended requirements take into account the use of additional software packages.
Only current versions of Macintosh and Windows operating systems are listed due to the end of mainstream support by both Apple and Microsoft to previous operating systems. As updates for vulnerabilities for earlier operating systems will not be issued, RCC has shifted its support to reflect this.
Other Considerations
Original system CDs may be needed to repair or reinstall your operating system. Be sure to have these with you. Failure to do so may increase the time it takes for resolving some computer issues.
If you are purchasing a new computer, be sure to check with your academic department for the type of computer that will most benefit you in the pursuit of your chosen degree.
