Wii MAC Address

This page includes instructions on how to get the MAC address for your Nintendo Wii. If you are trying to register you Wii, please go to the Device Registration page.

Using the Wii Online: Wireless

Your first option to use your Wii online is to connect wirelessly to the BGSU network. Please note that your building must be fully wireless to use this option. To find out if your building is fully wireless, please go here.

To connect wirelessly you also need a device from Nintendo called the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. This device creates a bridge between your computer and the Wii, which allows it connect to the network. However, we have not tested this and cannot guarantee that it will work.

Using the Wii Online: Ethernet

If wireless is not an option or you would prefer to connect through your Ethernet connection, you first must purchase the Nintendo Wii LAN Adapter. This should be available at most stores in the Video Game areas. Once you have installed the LAN adaptor, you will need to find the MAC address and register the device.

To find your MAC address:
1) From the home screen, select the "Wii" button in the lower left hand corner.
2) From here, select "Wii Settings" which will be the on-screen button on the right.
3) On this screen, select the right arrow to advance to the 2nd set of settings.
4) Select the "Internet" option.
5) Select the "Console Information" option.
6) The MAC address will be listed under "USB Ethernet Adapter MAC Address".

Write down this number and fill out a device registration form.

You may require additional settings to get your device to connect correctly. If this is the case, please go to the Additional Network settings page.
